Meet Zinabu. He’s got coffee in his blood, his father was a coffee trader. Zinabu left his life a physics teacher almost 20 years ago to found Tula Farm in the Kaffa region of Ethiopia. He founded the farm to do two things: make great coffee and preserve biodiversity.
The beans are grown in a rich forest setting where Zinabu carefully cultivates the land while taking care of nature. The trees provide shade to the coffee trees and make sure the soil is bountiful. That’s why we called the first in our green series -Forest.
Now he pays it forward, using his scientific approach and values to train other farmers to do the same.
Next time you are enjoying a cup of Forest, think about Zinabu, his team and the beautiful forest in Ethiopia where it is grown.
